Stone (red porphory) urn with gilt brass mounts on red porphory pedestal with red velvet textile beneath; domed gilt brass lid, engraved with foo dog finial.
According to accession records, this urn was brought from China by Dr. Boudinot Atterbury, brother of Mrs. Kiliaen Van Rensselaer IV, (Olivia Phelps Atterbury, d. 1923), mother of the donor. Dr. Atterbury was a medical missionary in China.
