Description: 
Waistcoat with cream silk brocade with a gold and blue chinoiserie leaf pattern on front panels; three straight rectangular pockets, one at the breast, two at the waistline; small rolled collar dropped into thin lapels above six silk covered buttons; blue cord trim around collar, lapels and pockets, along the garment opening and base; silk twill back panel with three ribbon ties to cinch garment; natural cotton lining.

Accordng to the donor, this waistcoat was worn by a Mr. De Pew at his wedding. He died in the late 1880's or early 1890's. He was the builder of some of the houses on Washington Square Park, New York, NY.
