Description 
Wrought silver waste bowl; raised circular form with bulbous lower body, chased and repousséd all over in a floral and swag design, set on four applied feet, each cast and chased in the form of a women's heads with a feathered headdresses tapering to the cast feet; upper body flares to a convex shoulder; scrolled shield-shaped cartouche in the front center is engraved with the Lenox family crest; four quarters, 1 and 4: argent a saltire engrailled between four roses; 2 and 3: three salmon each with a ring through his nose in a diamond; gilt interior; makers' marks on base.

Wedding gift to Jennet Lenox Maitland (1816-1889) from her Aunt Henrietta Anderson Lenox when she married Aaron Betts Belknap (1816-1880) on August 3, 1845. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Betts Belknap were the great-grand parents of Waldron Phoenix Belknap, Jr. Mr. Lloyd, one of the donors, was a cousin of Mr. Phoenix Belknap Jr. as well.
