Description: 
Purple velvet and silk woman's dress; velvet jacket-style lined and boned bodice ending at the waist with a pointed waistline; pleated silk closure at the front trimmed with velvet; velvet belt closure across the front; close fitting 3/4 length sleeve with a puffed and ruffled cap (kick-up) at the shoulder; needle point lace at the cuffs; hand-made bobbin lace over the sleeve caps and around the collar; lined with red and brown striped white cotton; interior of collar trimmed with brown ribbon; white ribbon to attach undergarments to; metal hook and eye closures; purple silk skirt with a velvet panel inserted in the front; on either side of the front split are machine-made bobbin lace decoration that extend up over the bodice and end in purple velvet and silk bow ties pinned below the shoulders; extra panel of silk at the back to form the smooth lying bustle; small silk bustle pillow at small of back; skirt closes in the front with a metal hook and eye.
