Description: 
Rectangular wooden veneered writing desk with flat, hinged lid, rounded edges bound in brass, border on top and front defined by thin inlaid strip of brass with decorative fleur-de-lis motifs inside each corner, brass handles with elaborately shaped mounts flush with each side of desk, elaborately shaped brass plaque on lid, and circular brass lock on front of desk; inside, tray divided into series of compartments of various shapes and sizes by pieces of wood slotted together, with several covered with lids with ivory pulls, and several divided by wood carved in serpentine shapes; inside of lid pulls out (may have originally held mirror).
