In a high point of the fall social calendar, the Metropolitan Opera held its opening night gala Sept. 26, with a production of Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde.” In Yonkers, the Untermyer Gardens Conservancy celebrated Mehregan, the ancient Persian harvest festival.
