Join us for this year's Family Benefit Party as we celebrate the people from American's past who shaped the country! Kids 4 to 14 and their families will enjoy hands-on historical activities, meet figures from the past, and eat lots of terrific food. This January, we’ll celebrate all the ways this nation has been shaped by its citizens, from bringing together diverse cultures, to the exercising of our rights as Americans.

  • Become a beacon! Construct and wear your own Statue of Liberty crown.
  • All family trees start with you! Kids will decorate a historical family tree design, add their name at the center, and then learn a few next steps to fill in their own family’s history.
  • Journey through Ellis Island! People had all kinds of codes and passwords to help their fellow applicants prepare for the questions asked at Ellis Island. Kids will learn some of the secret codes and practice sharing the information with historical reenactors.
  • New York has always been diverse! Meet the global inhabitants of New Amsterdam as they chat in multiple languages, pose for sketches, and tell you about their time in the colony.
  • Enjoy delicious food and drink, and don't forget to grab a goody bag!

Proceeds from the Family Benefit Party help us offer our year-round family, school, and teacher programs. Thank you for your support!
