Description
Brass struck medal with obverse showing aerial view of Paris with hot air balloon hovering over it; inscription in exergue: "PANORAMA de PARIS/1878." Reverse bears inscription: "SOUVENIR/DE MON ASCENSION/DANS/LE GRAND BALLON CAPTIF/A VAPEUR/DE MR HENRY GIFFARD/INA. THURSBY/30 JULLIET." Circular loop for handing attached at top center.
