Description
Wool machine sewn U.S. flag with 34 cotton stars on each side of the canton; thirteen red and white stripes; natural linen hoist with metal grommets along its length.

This flag was bought and hung out by the donor's father, New York lawyer William Thurston Horn, at the time of Abraham Lincoln's funeral procession in 1865. Horn lived at 325 Second Avenue at 19th Street.
