Jane Emmet was the tenth and last child of William Jenkins Emmet (1826-1905) and Julia (Pierson) Emmet (d. 1908) of New Rochelle, New York. Her mother was a daughter of Josiah Pierson. She married the British painter Wilfred Gabriel de Glehn on May 23, 1904, and thereafter lived in England.
