Mary Rose Donnelly was the daughter of Edward Constantine Donnelly, tax commissioner of New York, and Rose (Ford) Donnelly. In 1894 she was married to Charles Astor Bristed (1871-1936), a lawyer of Stockbridge, Mass., who was a great-grandson of John Jacob Astor.
