Pieced predominantly white cotton quilt with repeated octagonal figure composed of brown, red, and blue striped, printed, and plaid pieces; tufted with brown, red, blue, and green yarn; brown on beige floral print backing.

Gallery Label
This quilt passed through several generations of the Vail family, according to information supplied by the donor. Its original owners were probably Luther Vail (1785-1871) and Mary (Smith) Vail (1786-1856), the donor's great-grandfather and great-grandmother.
