The "Chesapeake" is representative of the tradition of extreme realism in ship model making, from the realistic materials to the proportions and design of the ship itself. The Chesapeake, U.S. Frigate, was famous for her role in the Chesapeake affair (June 22, 1807) and for her battle with the H.M.S. Shannon (June 1, 1813).
