Description
Porcelain pitcher molded into the head and body (from below the waist up) of Theodore Roosevelt grinning from behind a moustache and spectacles, wearing a red bandanna and belted khaki shirt, toting a red book titled "Africa" and a rifle; handle formed of an elephant's head and trunk. All handpainted with overglaze enamels.

This toby jug, made by Lenox after the design of Edward Penfield, was issued at the close of Roosevelt's last term of office when he was about to set forth on a big game hunting expedition into Africa.
