Description
The painting depicts the artist at his easel in his Tenth Street Studio, surrounded by stuffed animal heads, animal models, and skulls, as well as other accoutrements. Thomas LeClear was the artist's father in law.

This painting was formerly titled in TMS "Self-Portrait in the Tenth Street Studio." The conservation survey in the file says that the painting is marked "T. Le Clear on lower right. Thomas Le Clear was beard's father-in-law. Until research can be completed to determine if there was any previous documented titles, I have re-titled the painting "William H. Beard in his Tenth Street Studio."
