Description
Doll with wax shoulder head, long brown wig, black glass pupilless eyes, closed mouth, and tinted face; stuffed cloth body with divided arm composed of stuffed cloth upper arm and blue stuffed kid lower arm, separate fingers, complete stuffed cloth leg with knee indicated by row of stitching; green and brown checked dress with fringed sleeves, smocked apron with embroidered ribbon at waist, over petticoat and knickers with lace trim; pink stockings and black velvet slippers.

According to accession records, this doll was named "Ida Ann." A further note says that "Ida Ann Coles became Mrs. Jacob Janeway Van Nest." The doll may have been named after the donor's mother or step-mother (another record notes that Jacob Janeway Van Nest was the father of the donor). The doll belonged to Catherine V. Williams, half-sister of the donor.
