Description
Olive amber lead glass figured flask blown in a two-part mold (McKearin GI-85) with hand-tooled flared lip, rectangular body with rounded shoulders, bust of Lafayette on obverse with inscriptions "LAFAYETTE" and "COVETRY C-T", Liberty cap on pole in oval frame with semi-circle of stars above and inscription "S & S" below on reverse, and oval base with mold seam and pontil mark.

Gallery Label
Marquis de Lafayette, hero of the American Revolution, toured the United States in 1824-25. The inscription "S & S" stands for Stebbins & Stebbins, proprietors of the Coventry Glass Works.
