Description
Colorless non-lead blown glass firing glass; truncated conical bowl with drawn stem with large bubble joined with an annulated wafer to conical foot with pontil mark; wheel-engraved crowned monogram (FKC) within laurel wreath.

Firing glasses are characterized by their short, sturdy stems and heavy feet, although they are found with bowls of different shapes. Used at private clubs, drinking societies, and ceremonies, their name derives from the tradition of rapping their feet on the table, which, in large numbers, sounds like guns firing.
