Description
Colorless lead glass paperweight in the form of a flattened sphere mounted atop a pedestal consisting of stem with hollow ball knop and flat pad foot with pontil mark; internal motif of flat pink poinsettia dotted with goldstone, five green leaves, and stem.

This paperweight may have been created by Nicholas Lutz during his later years at the Mt. Washington Glass Co. in New Bedford, Massachusetts, or at the Union Glass Co. in Somerville, Massachusetts (see "Glass Paperweights of the New-York Historical Society," p. 134). Lutz worked at the Mt. Washington factory from 1892 until 1895 and at the Union factory from 1895 until his death in 1904.
