Description
Rosewood box camera with chamfered corners and adjustable lens with brass casing and brass cap; two hinged doors on top open to reveal two rectangular compartments, each fitted with removable wooden frame; empty frame in forward compartment probably served as plateholder; frame in rear compartment holds ground glass onto which concentric outlines corresponding to various standard daguerreotype shapes and sizes have been traced in pencil.
