Clockwise from upper right: Evening Grosbeak, adult male; Black-headed Grosbeaks, adult males; Black-headed Grosbeak, female; for Havell plate no. 373, a butterfly drawn by Maria Martin (1796 - 1863) was inserted at upper left, the focus of the four birds' attentions.
