Description
Maple Queen Anne daybed with adjustable back; turned stiles, three vase-shaped splats, rush seat (not original), and ball-turned legs joined by ball-and-reel-turned stretchers on the front, back, and lower end; plain, round medial stretchers and plain, round stretcher at upper end.

Gallery Label
The daybed's turnings are characteristic of Delaware River Valley furniture. Although most extant American daybeds date from the late 17th or early 18th centuries, the urn-shaped splats on this example suggest a date closer to 1800.
