Description
Yellow silk artillery flag with gold painted crossed cannons between red and black scrolled banners; gold fringe trim around the three fly edges, bare hoist.

This artillery flag was painted by the grandfather of the donor. It appears to be an unfinished New York Artillery flag, which is to be made of yellow silk with the Arms of the State of New York embroidered over two crossed cannons with the number of the regiment and the letters NYSM below and should be dressed with gold fringe. It appears that the state arms and regiment number were never added.
