This flag is one of many that hung on Abraham Lincoln's funeral bier. The donor's uncle, Z. M. Hewitt, along with J. T. Stewart, conducted and arranged for the laying in State of the President at City Hall, New York City. The family owned two more of these flags. They were donated to a church in Albany and the Allegheny County Schools in Cumberland, MD.
