Description
Tortoise shell decorative hair comb with fourteen teeth and openwork design at the top, the design has an oval in the center with several small flowers encircled by floral garland, both sides have floral pattern, the edges are scalloped.

This hair comb belonged to Elizabeth Wentworth, mother of Judge Daniel Meserve Durrell, a lawyer in New Orleans and a federal judge in Louisiana. His attorney son migrated to New York to pursue a literary career.
