Description
Steel, ivory, and brass dagger; tapered, triangular steel blade decorated with scrolls and floral designs; ovoid brass quillon with acorn finials and flowers enclosed inside roped border in center of both sides; ivory grips with diagonal ribbing and rectangular brass pommel decorated with leaves and grapes.

According to accession records, this dagger was used by the donor's father, Emilio Buch, while serving in the 2nd Battalion, Cazadores Voluntarios de Matanzas, as part of Spanish forces during the Cuban insurrection of 1867.
