Description
Seamed silver Classical Revival coffee and tea service consisting of a coffee pot, tea pot, stands for each, sugar bowl, creamer and waste bowl; curved and fluted bodies decorated all over with floral steel roller-die decoration and the initials "L S L H" in script in a shield shaped reserve; makers marks on the base.

Description: related to owner, Lydia S. Lawrence Horn, daughter of John L. Lawrence and wife of William Thurston Horn.
Mark: stamped on all pieces except stands at base underside: "4"
Mark: each piece is stamped on base with maker's hallmarks incuse, including Gale date mark: "G/ &/ W" in a rectangle over circle over diamond containing year "1859".
Engraving: all pieces have bright-cut engraved foliate, swag, and garland patterns reportedly executed with "steel roller die" and by hand; center-front and -back of each vessel has bright-cut engraved engrailed shield surrounded by beading with foliate design.
