Description
Oval brooch with miniature portraits of Arthur Frederic Schermerhorn (1860-1933) and Amy Elizabeth Schermerhorn (1861-1933); twisted and chased gold edging; portraits swivel to be worn either side out.

The portraits represent brother and sister Arthur Frederic and Amy Elizabeth Schermerhorn, the children of George Stevens Schermerhorn and his wife Julia Magdalene Gibert. The brooch was presented to the Society by the subjects' brother, Major E. Gibert Schermerhorn. A handwritten note accompanies the accession notes.
