Description
Cast and seamed silver black coffeepot in the Islamic style; squat circular lower body flared in the center with a plain applied band; on a molded footring with a plain band around the edge and decorative engraving along the seam; cast, applied, tall, narrow, tapering neck culminating in a plain, scalloped band around rim; onion dome lid with a cylindrical ivory finial; elaborate cast hinge with braided scrolls and floral motif; cast curved handle with ivory insulators and decorative pendants at the top and bottom; handle attaches to upper body on a cast, applied ring and cast floral motif handle socket; the opposite side of the ring has a cast braided scroll attachment that is applied to a loop around the spout; high, subtly curved spout with a decorative pendant below the lip and floral and scroll engraving with copper inlay around the base; all over floral scroll engraving in an Islamic style with copper inlay; "F A H" engraved in the front reserve, in script; makers' marks on the base.
