Marks
Mark: all pieces stamped on the bases: "GELSTON & TREADWELL" in a rectangle above "NEW-YORK" in a rectangle
Inscription: each piece is engraved in script on the bases: "J. L. M./ from her aunt/ H. A. L."
Engraving: All pieces bear variation of the Lenox arms in form of diamond at center-front cartouche reserve separated into four quarters with crosses and roses at quarters two and three, and lion rampant at quarters one and four.

Wedding gift to Jennet Lenox Maitland (1816-1889) from her Aunt Henrietta Anderson Lenox when she married Aaron Betts Belknap (1816-1880) on August 3, 1845. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Betts Belknap were the great-grand parents of Waldron Phoenix Belknap, Jr. Mr. Lloyd, one of the donors, was a cousin of Mr. Phoenix Belknap Jr. as well.
