Wrought Victorian rococo silver coffee and tea service consisting of a coffeepot, teapot, tray, sugar bowl with lid, creamer and waste bowl; six-sided inverted pear-shaped bodies on molded six-sided scalloped feet; long upper bodies flare slightly, to scalloped rims with cast-applied c-scrolls and six decorative cast pendants at each drop; chased and repouss

Presented by the firemen of the City of New York to Zophar Mills (1809-1887), on his retirement from the Volunteer Fire Department on August 8, 1853. The service cost one thousand dollars and was paid for by the firemen themselves. Mr. Adam P. Pentz. Zophar Mills, the father of the donor, presented it at a special meeting at Firemen's Hall.
