According to accession records, this urn was brought from China by Dr. Boudinot Atterbury, brother of Mrs. Kiliaen Van Rensselaer IV, (Olivia Phelps Atterbury, d. 1923), mother of the donor. Dr. Atterbury was a medical missionary in China.
