Description
Brass belt plate found near the British and Hessian camp on Laurel Hill at Fort George, along Audubon and Eleventh Avenues and between 190th and 194th Streets in Washington Heights, Manhattan; square with four studs and hook on back; engraved with foliate inscription and number on back.

This belt plate was excavated in a refuse pit on Audobon Avenue and 192nd Street, at the British and Hessian camp on Laurel Hill at Fort George, in Washington Heights. The letters are probably the initials of the British soldier who wore the belt plate.
