Wrought and cast silver porringer; circular, shallow bowl, with sides curved-out from a stepped, domed base, and back to an everted lip; cast, applied handle with pierced geometric shapes and scrolls on each side of the joint; engraved on the base, "A/ I *A/ 1719" in block letters; no maker's mark.

This porringer was probably made for Thomas and Abijah Arden in 1719. They were married in 1716.
Abijah Bouquet (b.1693), who married Thomas Arden; to their son Thomas Arden (b.1721), who married Mary Antoinette Blank (1726-1817); to their daughter Margaret Antoinette Arden (b.1770), who married Frederick Babcock (b.1771); to their daughter Mary Elizabeth Babcock (1808-1851), who married William Lewis Morris (1805-1864); to their son John Babcock Morris (b.1839), who married Mary E. Faitoute; to their son John Babcock Morris Jr. (1881-1957), the donor.
