White linen men's blouse with mother of pearl buttons; 1 1/8" stand-up colar which buttons at the back, 9 - 1" wide pleats acros the breast with 3 buttons down the center pleat, with a ruffle along each side; 2 buttons at the center of the yoke on reverse, no other means of closure; open cuffs button where they meet the sleeve; sides of blouse are slit at the bottom at each side, having rounded corners.

This blouse is a reproduction of a blouse worn by Albert Gallatin (1761-1849), stateman and once acting president of the New-York Historical Society. It was worn by his descendent, Albert E. Gallatin in the re-enactment of the signing of the Treaty of Ghent, in which the elder Gallatin particpated.
