Black wool Brigadere General Civil War army dress trousers with gilt piping down the side of each leg; button fly with 6 hidden metal buttons, button-closed pockets at the hips, suspender buttons, 2 straps at the back below the waistband which buckle at the center with rectangular metal buckle with vertical double-tongue chape; waist lined with white linen with blue and green pin stripes, white linen pockets; buttons at the inside seams at each ankle for boot strap, one side has mother of pearl and tortoise shell buttons, opposite side has 2 carved bone buttons.
