Dark olive green wool felt campaign hat with "Montana peak" and wide, flat brim; crown with four ventilation holes with grommets; brown and black hat cord with acorn tips and slide; leather sweatband and chin strap.

According to the accession records, this is an Army regulation campaign hat. It was worn by the donor, who served in the 7th Regiment, National Guard New York, from November 1893 to November 1899, May 1901 to November 1902, and from November 1914 to the early 1920s.
