Dark brown (once black) silk boy's trousers, horizontal flap across the front which fastens with a row of 5 buttons, with suspender buttons, lined with white linen.

According to the accession record, these trousers are part of a boy's Quaker costume worn ca. 1830 in Westchester County; he was related to the Alexander Smith family "of carpet fame."
