Dark blue wool Artillery officer's single-breasted field coat; 2 1/4" closed stand-up collar (2 sets hooks and eyes); shoulder straps with a leaf at each end against red ground; 4 hooks and eyes down the front (hidden); closed sleeves (no cuffs); 4 panels at the back; shallow split at the side seams; all outer edges trimmed with 1 1/2" black silk lacing; inside lined with dark gray (?) treated twill-weave cotton, breast lightly padded and quilted, vertical slit pocket at the left breast.
