Cast and wrought silver punch bowl; deep, lobate, inverted pear-shaped body with an everted and flared rim; cast daffodils and leaves applied around the rim; circular, domed, lobate foot with cast daffodils applied around the rim; engraved on the front, "PRESENTED TO/ HON. WILLIAM SULZER/ ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES/ AFTER A CONTINUOUS SERVICE OF EIGHTEEN YEARS/ -BY THE-/ MEMBERS OF THE NEW YORK DELEGATION, 62ND CONGRESS/ IN HONOR OF HIS FAITHFUL PATRIOTIC SERVICES/ ""AND""/ AS A MARK OF PERSONAL AFFECTION" in block letters; gilt interior; maker's marks stamped on the base.
