Description
Cast silver inkstand and two silver and glass inkwells; stand in tray form with raised, everted sides with a plain band around the rim; shallow, oval well for pens with two c-scroll rests across the top; two square rests for the inkwells; stand engraved with the Seal of the City of New York above, "THIS INKSTAND/ WAS PRESENTED TO/ HONORABLE WILLIAM SULZER/ UPON HIS INAUGURATION/ AS FORTY-SECOND GOVERNOR/ OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK/ AT ALBANY/ JANUARY 1st 1913/ BY/ FRANK M. PATTERSON" in roman letters; four scrolled feet applied to the base; makers' marks stamped on the base; two square glass inkwells with domed shoulders and silver, circular necks with hinged, circular domed covers engraved, "WS" superimposed.
