According to accession records, this bar shot was excavated by Reginald P. Bolton, Oscar T. Barck, and others, probably at a British Revolutionary War military camp in Washington Heights, Manhattan, or in an American camp in the Hudson Highlands of New York. The sliding bars on this bar shot enabled it to expand when fired from a cannon.
