Cast silver plated cruet stand with a rectangular base with a short apron and four flaring feet; base stamped with a flag inscribed, "HNCo" with overlapping letters; cylindrical stem screwed through the center of the base; two square frames with chain link decoration around the edges, applied on either side of the stem; oval handle with a scrolled finial; maker's marks stamped on the underside of the base.
stamped: on the underside of the base: "HUDSON NAVIGATION Co/ G. M. CO." over an anchor in a shield, over "E P/ 02908" stamped: on the top of the base: "HNCo" in a flag
This cruet stand was used on the steamboat "Trojan."
