This vase was made by Vincent Primavera, an Italian immigrant to New York City, for his nephew Warren Galli (the donor). Vincent Primavera came to New York from near Lake Garda in northern Italy as a teenager, worked as an apprentice, and founded Florentine Craftsmen ca. 1920. His shop, which produced Italian-style garden ornaments, was located at 253 Church Street and later on First Avenue across from Bellevue Hospital. The firm still operates in Long Island City.
