Description
Leaded glass and bronze "Magnolia" floor lamp on bronze base; 28" diameter globe-shaped shade depicting magnolia blossoms in three repeats; border row of rectangles in rippled blue-green; blossoms light green with darker green and brown mottling; flowers in full bloom rendered in brownish-white drapery glass; background ranges from light mauve to deep purple, rendered in undulating glass; branches delineated in dark, striated brown. Standard bronze floor lamp base.

Gallery Label
Now sought after by collectors, Tiffany's magnolia shades are distinguished by the use of a ridged, highly textured glass called "drapery glass," which Tiffany usually restricted to his windows. The drapery glass conveys the fleshy texture of magnolia blossoms and gives the shade a rich surface quality.
