This crown was purchased by Jan Ramirez, director of the Museum division of the N-YHS, at several souvenir shops in the immediate vicinity of Times Square shortly after the first of the year. It represents one of the many types of souvenirs hawked to revelers in Times Square on New Year's Eve, 2000.
