Board game with board, box, fourteen wooden playing pieces, and one cardboard and metal spinner; board set into the bottom half of the box with multi-colored circles labeled "shoot" and retreat" arranged over a South African landscape; box cover has images of a Boer soldier on horseback, a medallion portrait of General Sir G.S. White and a portait of President Paul Kruger; box cover inscribed, "FIGHTING / with/ the/ BOERS/ PARKER BROTHERS/ SALEM, MASS.,/ U. S. A.;" seven red wooden playing pieces and seven white wooden playing pieces.
