Gallery Label
The subject was the youngest son of Joseph Stillwell and Mary (Ogborne) Stillwell of Middletown, New Jersey. He practiced medicine in Middletown for several years, then settled permanently in New York. He was the author of several medical monographs, and was a member of the New York County Medical Society. This miniature was a gift to the Society from his grandson.
