"The Checkered Game of Life" board game in a paper covered cardboard box with the board set into the bottom half of the box; board chromolithographed with a red and blue checkerboard path from "Infancy" to "Happy Old Age"; box cover chromolithographed with an image of the board covered with the pictures of two boys playing, a boy with books under his arm, a man in an office speaking in a phone and a family with a mother, father and two children; box cover inscribed, "CHECKERED GAME/ of LIFE./ "THE FIRST GAME INVENTED AND MANUFACTURED BY MR. MILTON BRADLEY, PLAYED FOR OVER FIFTY YEARS."/ 4452/ MILTON BRADLEY CO./ SPRINGFIELD, MASS."; playing pieces include two wooden die cups, a pair of bone dice, and four wooden playing pieces.
