"The Game of Telegraph Boy or Merit Rewarded" board game consisting of board, four lead game pieces (running messenger boys on round bases), in wooden box with cover illustrations of boy in blue uniform and cap running, a boy handing a letter to a man at a desk and a stock ticker; box cover inscribed, "GAME/ OF THE/ TELEGRAPH/ BOY/ OR/ MERIT/ REWARDED/ Copyrighted 1888 by/ McLOUGHLIN BRO'S/ NEW-YORK"; bi-fold paper covered cardboard gameboard in the form of a octagon maze, with some boxes marked with description or instruction, such as "Advance to BOX INSPECTOR," with illustration at each corner and spinner at lower right corner.
